Orlando Pirates dropped points for the third time in five games as the Soweto giants were held to a 0-0 draw against SuperSport United, while Ricardo Nascimento scored in stoppage time to salvage a point for Royal AM against Marumo Gallants.
After a slow start to the game the first chance came through an error on the 24th minute mark as Pirates pressed high and won the ball but Deon Hotto could only hit the side netting after being played through by Vincent Pule.
Pule was proving a threat and he came close ten minutes before the break but his shot from on the edge of the box was punched away by shot-stopper George Chigova.
Jose Riviero’s team came out with intent at the start of the second half and again came close but this time Chigova denied Bienvenu Eva Nga.
Pirates kept on knocking but were proving wasteful in front of goal.
With both sides needing something different, the respective coaches turned to the bench and it was Gavin Hunt who looked to have made the better changes as first Thamsanqa Gabuza somehow missed an open goal before Iqraam Rayners flashed his late effort just wide.
Things ended badly for Pirates as Lorch was stretchered off injured in stoppages after he collided with Thatoyaone Ditlhokwe as the sides shared the spoils in the end.
In the other game earlier in the day Royald AM fought back to earn a 2-2 draw with Marumo Gallants.
Gallants took the lead with just 15 minutes gone as Ndlondlo fired them into the lead. However, moments before the break the home side drew level through Lesvin Stoffles.
The visitors looked to be walking away with the three points after Sede Dion’s 52’nd minute strike, but Nascimento popped up to score his third of the season with a 92nd minute equaliser.
